Low Profile Rooftop Tent Mounting Kit

NOTE: This kit does not contain the bolts, nuts and washers pictured.  These will come with your rooftop tent.  This kit only includes the short rectangular bars.

This kit is used to mount a rooftop tent to a roof rack that has slats that run lengthwise.

This includes the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform, Big Country 4x4 and Eezi-Awn K9 roof racks.

Compatible rooftop tents are any tent that has aluminum extrusion rails on the bottom.  Most soft shell tents have these.

The bars in this kit will fit under the slats on the roof rack and clamp the tent to the top of the rack, and will make your tent install very low profile.

You will need to use the hardware kit included with the tent in conjunction with this kit.

To install this kit:

1. Position the tent on the roof rack where you'd like it to be installed, ensuring that the rails on the bottom of the tent run parallel with the roof rack slats and each rail sitting between two slats.  The rails should be resting on the perpendicular slat braces.
2. Install the bolt from your tent hardware kit through the small extrusion piece as usual and feed it into the extrusion rail on the bottom of the tent.  You will need to lift the tent in place and slide the bolt into the appropriate position.  Do this on all four mounting locations.
3. Next, feed the bolt through the hole in one of the rectangular bars included in this kit from under the roof rack, ensuring that the rubber side is face up toward the bottom side of the roof rack.  Make sure the rectangular bar is turned perpendicular to the roof rack slats.
4. Finally, feed a washer and locknut from your rooftop tent mounting hardware onto the bolt and tighten.  This should firmly clamp the rooftop tent to the roof rack.
